Dearest Beatrice,
I am writing to express my feelings for you. I’ve come this far to write this letter. I have loved you all my life even before and after returning from the battle. I was trying to hint to you that all ladies except you love me and I love none but you. I thought you didn’t love me anymore. The past conflicts we had, certainly hurt me.

It hurts me every time you say harsh things, especially when you said ‘nobody marks you’. I thought that meant you too, didn’t notice me. Each time I see you, I fall deeper into the sandpit, and every time I do, I sink lower and lower. My hearts skips a beat when I see you or hear your voice. Nothing can change the fact that I love you, even if you don’t love me, I will still love you as much. I love you more than any man could love a woman. After all the conflicts and the harsh conversation we had, I thought that there was no chance of getting back together again, until the night of the party, the guy behind the mask was me. I wanted to know how you think about me, because I was really curious about what type of person you think I am. So, I pretended to be someone in disguise. I guess you didn’t realize who I was and you didn’t know that you were actually talking to me till later. The conversation we had and the words you used to describe benedick was not what I expected. I thought it was going to be something harsher and it would hurt me badly, but it isn’t as harsh as the previous few conversations that we had. Even if you did say something harsher, I would understand how you felt because I was the one who left you and broke the trust you use to have in me.

When I overheard Don Pedro and Lenato’s conversation, I was more convinced that you still have feelings for me. Even the slightest feelings for me would mean the world to me because it simply means I still have a chance to woo you. Especially when they said that “O, when she had writ it, and was reading it over, she found ‘Benedick’ and ‘Beatrice’ between the sheet ‘. I was really elated and overjoyed when I realized that actually, you too miss me. I also tried to tell you that I still love you but I don’t know how to.

I couldn’t bottle up my feelings for you anymore because the love I have for you is too strong and deep. When Don Pedro said “ In everything but in loving benedick”, I was very happy but at the same time I was shocked. I was wondering how could you still be madly in love with me despite the mean and horrible things I’ve said to you. I was really delighted and was lost for words. I want to apologize for the mean things I’ve said to you. It hurt me even when I say those things to you. Beatrice dearest, you have changed my way of thinking about being a bachelor. Because of you, I will never feel alone, I love you all my life, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Without you by my side is like not having sunflowers. Sunflowers are like you; they make me happy and make me smile even during the worse time of life. But you’re so much better compared to a sunflower. You make my world a better place to live in. You mean the world to me.
